John 15:1- 4  I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Every branch in Me not bearing fruit, He takes it away; and each one bearing fruit, He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit. You are already pruned because of the Word which I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I in you. As the branch is not able to bear fruit of itself, unless it remain in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me.
• What does it mean to Abide or Remain?  Primary verb; to stay, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain. Invokes the idea that we can choose to be close to Christ or drift away.  So often we think God changed or moved but in actuality, we strayed and not the Father.  Note, it’s the Word of God that causes us to be pruned ” that’s the standard” . Everything we do is measured by the WORD!! All our life’s activities will be tested against the Word of God, Jesus thus takes away what is not good and fruitful by pruning.
•Just like the vine our existence and sustenance comes from God. So…if its true we can only receive good fruit from the Lord what are we producing? Is our life offering Jesus fruit or worldly fruit? Is the fruit evidence of ABIDING IN CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is it GOOD FRUIT ?????
